How to Activate Whatsapp Fingerprint Authentication for Android Phones
As stated earlier to activate Whatsapp Fingerprint Authentication on an android phone, you have to upgrade your version to 2.19.221 and above. Once you have the upgraded version, follow the steps below to activate this feature.
1. Open your Whatsapp and go to settings.
2. On the pop-out menu click on “Account”
3. Tap on privacy.
4. Next, navigate through the options presented and select the ‘fingerprint lock’ option.
Consequently, once you click on the option. The fingerprint authentication will be enabled on your android phone. On the other hand, if you have already registered for the beta version, you need not go through this process. The feature is pre-installed in the version.
Subsequently, you will have to select the duration of inactivity that will necessitate the lock. It is always between 1 to 30 minutes. Also, you will be required to confirm your fingerprint by tapping on the fingerprint sensor on your phone.
