Canada immigration is the act by which most people migrate to the country for the sole purpose of living there and settling there-and where more than ninety-five percent of them eventually go on to become eligible citizens. So how does an individual make the choice of which immigration program is best suited to his or her needs?
Immigration to Canada can be either in-country or out-of-country. In-country, which is known as immigration under the Canadian immigration act, usually takes between three months and two years to complete. The purpose of this process is to permit immigrants to live in Canada long enough to obtain permanent residency (PR). The waiting period between this process and becoming a Canadian citizen are typically three to five years. However, it is possible to have permanent residency while still waiting for PR.

Out-of-country, which is also known as the immigrant investor program, is usually a much shorter process. The requirements are less stringent in terms of education, work experience, and family relationships. One advantage of out-of-country is that the immigrant is not bound by the waiting period for in-country immigration. The applicant can also apply for a “green card,” which permits him or her to work legally in Canada. However, if the applicant is not yet a permanent resident of the country, he or she will not be eligible for an immigrant investor visa.

The federal immigration program is generally considered to be the easiest and fastest way to achieve permanent residency in Canada. The process is often simplified with the help of immigration lawyers. These professionals know all the ins and outs of the immigration process and can explain it to potential applicants in a clear and concise manner.
Another advantage of Canada immigration is that you can acquire a work permit while living in Canada as long as you do not work in a specialized occupation that requires an employee identification card. In addition, there are also other advantages such as immediate access to financial aid for your child’s education, Canada Pension Plan benefits, free health care benefits, access to public housing, and even special programs that will help you build a new life after your departure from Canada.
